Largely because del Toro did more with her character and she got to loosen up a bit more in that film.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21463545.post-51584299576348898622012-04-06T15:22:42.989-07:002012-04-06T15:22:42.989-07:00Excellent review! She is very gifted actress, too bad she doesn't star in many interesting films.s.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13987831438787776712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21463545.post-22462446332764835982012-04-05T22:16:25.517-07:002012-04-05T22:16:25.517-07:00@TheVern-Thanks. Still, I'm sure Peter Jackson will re-create the same magic that he did with the LOTR trilogy. He needs to redeem himself after the crap-fest that was The Lovely Bones.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21463545.post-33943000049375963362012-04-05T21:38:41.213-07:002012-04-05T21:38:41.213-07:00This is one of the mnost indepth reviews of a movi...This is one of the mnost indepth reviews of a movie I have ever read. Great Job. I learned a lot about the crew and the hard work they went to to make this movie. While not my favorite Del Toro flick ("Pan's Labyrinth" wins that one). I do appreciate his visual style. Would have loved for him to do "The Hobbit"Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16174093530239310598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21463545.post-78090992753980286252012-04-05T16:07:27.209-07:002012-04-05T16:07:27.209-07:00I never read the comics so I came into the film bl...I never read the comics so I came into the film blind but I enjoyed the hell out of it. I felt that it's more than just a comic book adaptation. Notably the stuff between Hellboy and Professor Bruttenholm that I think plays into del Toro's themes of the complex relationship between monsters and humans.thevoid99https://www.blogger.com/profile/03055459287396592446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21463545.post-5716250944323144422012-04-05T13:02:17.895-07:002012-04-05T13:02:17.895-07:00I liked the film, but it felt like the director wa...I liked the film, but it felt like the director was a bit too much of a fan of Mignola's work. I felt it could have used a tiny bit of editing of scenes that meant nothing to people that hadn't read the comics. Good review.Chip Laryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00787403805554027107noreply@blogger.com
