2015 Blind Spot Series

As I'm now one film away from completing my Blind Spot Series for 2014 which will be Salo, or The 120 Days of Sodom. The time has come to look at what is ahead for the next year as I'm going to do something very different with the Blind Spot Series. For the 2015 series, I decided to do films that came out before the year I was born which is 1980. Much of it will involve films in different genres where half of these films will be American films as another half will be from other countries or filmmakers from other countries. One of these non-American films will be a trilogy as I'm taking part in a different project that I want to do which relates to trilogies as I will make an announcement on that next month. Here are the 12 films that I will do for the 2015 Blind Spot Series:

The General

Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans

Man with a Movie Camera

Scarface

Sullivan's Travel

My Darling Clementine

Singin' in the Rain

The Human Condition Trilogy

Charulata

Alphaville

The Long Goodbye

Suspiria

I've only seen three of these, myself, but I love all of them. The General, the original Scarface, and Singin' in the Rain are all amazing. Have fun!

Great choices! I love The General.
Good luck with The Human Condition, that's a huge undertaking, and took me a week or more to finish. It was worth it though, an epic trilogy.

I've only seen Susperia, but man do I love that one.

And Salo's your next Blind Spot? Holy shit. I made it about 15 minutes through that movie and shut it off. (and I guess I wussed out way too early because I've been told "you didn't even see the worst stuff.")

@Wendell-Thank you. I will. I just wanted to mix things up with the series.

@Chris-That's one of the reasons why I chose The Human Condition was to be challenged and see all three films in the span of a week.

@Brittani-I'm hoping to see Suspiria as I definitely need to have Italian horror in my bucket list. I'm dreading and eager to see what is in store for Salo.

I'd never heard of Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom before, but looking it up on IMDB it sounds like a very messed-up movie. I've still got one more to go myself- Clint Eastwood's "White Hunter, Black Heart" and then I can start thinking about which of my 2015 list to start with.

I've only seen bits and pieces of "Man With a Movie Camera" but that seems to be a popular choice, since I know at least one other blogger is doing it for his list. Seeing as it is a weird experimental piece that often gets talked about it should be interesting to see.

I still stand by everything I said about Alphaville on Letterbox. I've tried to warn you of the excruciating 99 minutes you'll endure but I guess you'll just have to see it for yourself. I know Fisti tried to defend it so it might be interesting to see which of us you end up siding with.

@John Hitchcock-Part of the reasons why I enjoy watching films is to see how much I can take. After all, I'm sure Alphaville or Salo is far more endearing than say... Grown Ups 2.

Suspiria is in my top 100. Italian horror is something I simply cannot get enough of. I can't wait to gear your thoughts on it.

I also adore Sullivan's Travels and The Long Goodbye.

Sunrise is on my Blind Spot list for 2015 as well. The list is up on my blog if you want to check it out.

Next year will be the first year I participate in it.

@Luke-I'm glad more people are doing the Blind Spot series. It gives all of us the chance to see something cool or something that is daring while discussing about it.

As for your list. I saw more than half of the films you listed. I hope you enjoy those films as I think I have a few of them in my watchlist. Even as I want to do more films by Billy Wilder who I like a lot.
